Dual Language Immersion Environment

A new kindergarten inspired by curiosity, guided by joy

We are a Reggio Emilia inspired preschool in Taipei serving children ages 2-6 in a multicultural environment nurturing children’s development through art, projects, and language learning. We offer a dynamic balance between meaningful learning and skills-based learning.

Our Educational Approach

Dual Language Immersion

We are a bilingual program, but not in the traditional sense. We offer a "dual language immersion" approach, fully integrating and intertwining experiences in both Mandarin and English. While all our teachers in the classrooms are bilingual speakers in both languages, each teacher typically focuses on one—either Mandarin or English—throughout the day. By taking turns leading activities in each language, children are naturally immersed in both, fostering bilingualism through daily, authentic exposure.

Reggio Emilia Inspired

We are influenced by the Reggio Emilia Approach, viewing children as curious, competent, and social learners. Rather than simply being transmitters of knowledge, our teachers act as facilitators guiding children as they explore and construct knowledge. We design learning experiences with meaningful connections to the real world that help children understand the physical, emotional, and cultural aspects of the world around them. This child-centered approach fosters critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a holistic understanding of their environment, nurturing a lifelong love of learning.

Social-Emotional Learning

Social-emotional learning in our kindergarten nurtures children's healthy responses to challenges and fosters emotional and intellectual growth. Our caring teachers create a supportive environment, helping children build positive relationships, develop empathy, and enhance communication skills. By promoting self-awareness and self-regulation, children gain a deeper understanding of their emotions and behaviors, crucial for interpersonal relationships and academic success. This approach ensures a positive classroom environment where all children feel valued, fostering active participation in a community of learners.

Multicultural Environment

We embrace the Taiwanese cultural identity of the community we serve while integrating an American and global perspective into the learning experiences we provide for the children. We seek to instill values of curiosity, creativity, and assertiveness, while also nurturing kindness, cooperation, and a sense of responsibility. This unique blend of perspectives helps children develop a multicultural awareness and global worldview while also embracing their Taiwanese roots.

About Us

Our Story

Piperseeds Preschool was founded by Ron and Grace, an American expat couple originally from New York City. They moved to Taiwan in 2015 to open progressive early childhood schools, bringing a vision rooted in the belief that children are deeply driven by the desire to understand and to be understood. Our goal as a kindergarten is to nurture the development of the skills, knowledge, and habits of mind to help children succeed in fulfilling these desires.

After opening two successful and innovative English-immersion schools in Taipei, Piperseeds Preschool is the latest educational project our founders have started, focusing on reimagining bilingual preschool education in Taiwan. Ron and Grace bring their years of experience building and training teams of early childhood educators to breathe life into their vision for a playful, joyful, and enriching school experience for children and their families.

Ron holds a Master of Science degree in early childhood education from Erikson Institute in Chicago. He further specialized in language and literacy learning in young children from birth through age eight. Grace holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She also holds an early childhood educator and preschool principal license in Taiwan.
